Whenever I return a mussel to the sea, I think of the story of the little boy who is throwing starfish back into the water and when gets asked why since he really wouldn’t be able to make much of a difference as there are tens of thousands starfish washed up on the beach and hundreds of beaches along the coast, replies: “It makes a difference to that one!”
